A 365 mm roller and 1,750 mm working width set the PRI 418 up for high flatwork throughput in a shipboard or offshore laundry. At 25% residual moisture it is rated up to 104 kg/h, so one machine can keep pace with continuous washing on larger vessels.

For a marine installation, the published infrastructure figures matter as much as the output. The PRI 418 is specified and approved for shipboard use and specified for offshore installations, so the 22 kW total connected load, 50 A fuse rating and 3N AC 400 V 50–60 Hz electrical connection can be dropped straight into switchboard and feeder calculations. Heat dissipation into the room is 12.6 MJ/h, a non-trivial load in a confined laundry that has to be recovered by the HVAC system. Maximum floor load is 4356 N with a net weight of 444 kg, which allows the naval architect to check deck structure without guesswork.

The ironer is built for laundry infeed at the front and outfeed at the back, which supports a pass-through layout separating clean and finished sides. Minimum controlled ironing speed is 1.5 m/min and maximum 5.4 m/min, so the operator can slow the bed for heavy cottons or speed it up when clearing lighter work. At 50% residual moisture the quoted maximum performance is 63 kg/h; that figure is often closer to real life on board where extraction programmes are shortened for turnaround time.

Physically, the PRI 418 stands 1110 mm high, 2469 mm wide and 1441 mm deep. Gross dimensions of 1388 × 2576 × 1096 mm are the numbers to use for route planning through doors and lifts. Gross weight is 521 kg, so access routes and handling gear need to be checked at the design stage, not left to the yard to resolve late. Emission sound pressure level in the workplace is quoted at 56 dB(A) re 20 µPa, which keeps noise contribution modest in a shared technical area.

On the textile side the machine runs with leaf-spring padding and an ARAMID needle-felt cloth ironer cover, a combination chosen to reach the stated ironing performance and finish quality. Tested operating hours are 20000, which gives a benchmark for service planning before major overhaul. The control system is a touch display with defined programme parameter setting, so standard programmes for typical shipboard linen can be created and called up repeatably across a fleet.

Peak-load and energy management connectivity allows the 22 kW draw to be coordinated with other large consumers so that the laundry does not drive unwanted load peaks. The PRI 418 is the right choice where there is enough flatwork volume to exploit up to 104 kg/h of capacity and where a pass-through layout with separate sides is planned. It is the wrong choice for a compact laundry that handles only occasional small batches, where this 2469 mm-wide, 444 kg machine and its 12.6 MJ/h heat output would occupy more deck, power and HVAC capacity than the workload justifies.
