Twelve levels split 6 + 6 in GN 1/1 format and a maximum load of 54 + 54 kg define the DKECOD615-615G2. Within a 997 x 799 x 1700 mm body MKN has built two FlexiCombi ovens side by side, each with the same rack and load rating.
On a ship this twin-chamber layout goes straight into how production and redundancy are planned. With GN 1/1 capacity quoted as 6 + 6 (12), and meals per day specified as 30 - 160 on GN 1/1 and 30 - 300 on FlexiRack, a galley can run separate menus or dayparts in each chamber without mixing loading patterns. If one chamber is taken out of service, the vessel still holds 6 GN 1/1 or 6 FlexiRack levels and up to 54 kg of product in the remaining side. The 248 kg net weight and the footprint need to be considered where the cooking line sits over accommodation or technical spaces, because that mass is a permanent load into the deck structure.
Electrically, the DKECOD615-615G2 is specified as a 400 V unit with total electrical power of 2 x 10.4 kW. That figure has to be carried into the switchboard calculation and generator load balance, particularly if several combis and other electric appliances share the same section. Within that supply each chamber can be run independently, so one side can be working at high power while the other holds a lower-temperature regeneration cycle. The published maximum load of 54 + 54 kg gives a firm design limit for menu engineering: trays can be specified with confidence up to that rating rather than on assumption.
The GN 1/1 capacity of 6 + 6 (12) is mirrored in the FlexiRack entry of 6 + 6 (12). That gives a designer the option to use standard 1/1 GN containers or to move to the crosswise FlexiRack system and reach the higher 30 - 300 meals per day band. In a constrained marine galley this is often where the meal count is gained without adding another body. The external dimensions of 997 x 799 x 1700 mm also set what is required from the extract canopy and surrounding furniture: there has to be enough space for door movement and service access once the oven is built into a line.
Build and control
• FlexiCombi series twin-chamber configuration (6 + 6 GN 1/1)
• GN 1/1 capacity 6 + 6 (12) for standard containers
• FlexiRack capacity 6 + 6 (12) for alternative loading
• Maximum load weight 54 + 54 kg across the two chambers
• Electric heating with total electrical power 2 x 10.4 kW
• 400 V supply
• Net weight 248 kg for structural and installation planning
• External dimensions 997 x 799 x 1700 mm for canopy and layout design
This configuration is well suited to vessels that need the throughput of 12 levels but also want the operational flexibility and resilience of two independent 6-level ovens in one frame. It is the wrong choice where the galley is limited to a very small electrical allowance or where only one cooking chamber can be staffed effectively, because in those cases a single-chamber oven with lower total power demand is simpler to integrate and to operate.
