Twenty-one minutes to a DIN cooking cycle on a 60 litre fill defines the 7EKER060X: a compact electric boiling kettle built around a 70 litre vessel. With a kettle diameter of 500 mm and a depth of 375 mm, it delivers that capacity on an 800 × 700 mm footprint at 750 mm height.
Those dimensions matter in a shipboard galley where every module competes for deck area and headroom. At 800 × 700 × 750 mm, the kettle fits into a 700 mm deep line without projecting into narrow walkways, while still offering a recommended fill volume of 60 litres for production cooking to DIN. Latent heat emission of 3160 W and sensible heat emission of 553 W are the figures the HVAC designer needs for the air-conditioning and extraction balance; they show that most of the 15.8 kW electrical input is transferred into the product rather than the room.
The electrical specification is tuned to common marine plant. Supply is 3 N−PE AC/50 Hz at 380–415 V, protected at 3 × 32 A, with installed power of 15.8 kW. That makes the kettle straightforward to feed from a three-phase galley distribution board without oversizing the section. The unit’s net weight of 102 kg (111 kg gross) keeps it within a range that can be handled through normal galley installation routes, while still giving the mass and stability expected from a fixed boiling kettle.
On the process side, the automatic steam chamber pressure control up to 0.8 bar gauge stabilises the heating conditions in the jacket, which is what underpins the quoted 21 min DIN cooking time. A maximum flow rate of 80 l/min through the 3/4″ internal thread water connection, at an inlet pressure between 2 and 6 bar, allows fast filling and refilling between batches without waiting on a slow feed. The recommended 60 litre fill against a 70 litre gross volume gives the headroom needed for boiling without spillage, relevant on a moving deck.
The IPX6 protection rating is significant aboard because it allows the kettle to be washed down with pressure spray guns without water ingress into the electrical enclosure. Daily cleaning is simplified when the appliance can tolerate those conditions instead of needing to be shielded from them. The hinged lid keeps condensate and steam inside the vessel during cooking and swings clear for loading and unloading.
Build and control
• Hinged lid
• IP-rated water protection (IPX6)
• Automatic steam chamber pressure control up to 0.8 bar gauge
This kettle is the right choice where a galley needs a single, general-purpose boiling vessel around the 60 litre working volume, integrated into a 700 mm deep cooking line and cleaned by hose or spray. It is not the right fit where larger batch sizes are the norm or where multiple kettles in line are required; those installations should look to the higher-capacity bodies in the same family.
