MKN Electric Grill Pan 2122507 – Smooth, Optima 700

Seven point two kilowatts into a single smooth pan with 26 litres capacity gives the 2122507 a clear role as a compact, high-output module in the Optima 700 line. At 600 x 700 x 700 mm overall, it occupies one standard 700 mm-deep body while offering a 500 x 540 x 100 mm working surface.

On a shipboard line where every module has to justify its footprint, that 500 x 540 mm surface in a 600 mm-wide body makes planning straightforward: one grill pan slot in alongside other Optima 700 appliances without breaking the line geometry. The 400 V supply aligns with typical three-phase service panels used for galley cooking blocks, so the unit can be fed directly from the main galley distribution rather than needing a separate shore-oriented circuit. At 65 kg net weight, handling and installation can be managed without special lifting arrangements in most galleys, but the 700 mm height still needs to be checked against any surrounding furniture to keep a continuous working plane.

The single work zone is important operationally. With one heated area across the 500 x 540 mm surface and thermostatic temperature control, the pan behaves predictably for batch work: one setpoint, one product, consistent results. The 26 litre capacity defined for the smooth pan and the 100 mm depth give enough volume to handle liquids or products releasing juices without risk of overflow, while still keeping the working area accessible. In a production galley this suits focused tasks such as searing or shallow frying in medium batches rather than multi-product service on one plate.

Electrically, the 7.2 kW rating at 400 V should be part of the switchboard calculation early in the project. Grouping several 7.2 kW modules on one string adds up quickly, and galley designers will usually balance them across phases to avoid uneven loading. Because the unit is prepared for connection to an energy optimisation system, it can take part in any load-shedding or demand-management strategy the vessel employs to keep peak draw under control.
