Hoshizaki Water Filter System 9320-51 – 4HC Single, 7.6 l/min

The Hoshizaki 4HC Single Filter water filter system (H9320-51, item 9320-51) is a single-cartridge system with manifold and 4HC-H cartridge for ice machines. It passes up to 7.6 l/min (2 gpm) and treats about 79,485 litres (21,000 US gal) before the cartridges are changed, which Hoshizaki puts at every 6 to 12 months depending on use and water.

Filtration

The 4HC-H cartridge is rated to NSF/ANSI Standard 42, Class 1, for bacteriostatic effects, particulates, taste, odour and chlorine; Hoshizaki states it reduces up to 97.3 % of disinfectant chlorine and filters out dirt and rust that cloud ice, while cutting scale build-up in the machine. Replacement cartridges are H9655-11 (single) and H9655-06 (six-pack). Hoshizaki does not recommend it for use with flakers, nor where the water is microbiologically unsafe without disinfection.

Sizing

Hoshizaki America matches this system to self-contained ice makers and all models producing less than about 408 kg (900 lb) a day. It measures 15.2 × 25.4 × 53.3 cm (W × D × H), works between 0.7 and 8.6 bar (10 to 125 psi) and 2 to 38 °C (35 to 100 °F), and ships at about 1.8 kg.

On a vessel the ice maker is fed from the ship's potable water system, and a filter keeps chlorine taste out of the ice and scale out of the evaporator.
