This unit is specified and approved for shipboard use and is also specified for offshore installations, so 3N AC 400V 50–60HZ is part of its basic design rather than an adaptation. The ability to run on both 50 and 60 Hz matters on vessels moving between yards and refits, because it means the ironer can sit on a standard marine 400 V three-phase distribution without frequency-specific variants. Heat dissipation into the room is quoted at 11 MJ/h, which should be carried into the HVAC calculation, especially in a compact laundry with limited make-up air.

The roller is padded with supple steel wool and covered with an ARAMID needle-felt cloth. That combination is designed to give good contact at the 1,400 mm working width while tolerating the temperatures from the 6.5 kW electric heater rating. The minimum controlled ironing speed is 1.5 m/min and the maximum is 4 m/min, so the operator can trade throughput against finish quality and staff pace. Control is via a touch display with setting of defined programme parameters, which keeps the interface simple for a small crew and allows laundry procedures to be standardised.

External dimensions are 1032 mm in height, 1979 mm in width and 650 mm in depth, so the machine occupies a modest strip of bulkhead and leaves space in front for handling long flatwork. Gross transport dimensions of 1374 × 2163 × 660 mm should be checked against stairways and hatches when planning installation on existing vessels. Net weight is 140 kg and gross weight 155 kg, but the maximum floor load is only 1400 N, a low figure that makes deck strengthening unnecessary in most refits. Emission sound pressure level is specified at ≤70 dB(A) re 20 µPa, which keeps noise exposure acceptable when the ironer shares space with washers and dryers.

The total connected load is 7 kW with a fuse rating of 16 A, so electrical planners can feed it from a relatively small breaker compared with larger rotary ironers. Tested operating hours are quoted at 20000, which is relevant when comparing lifecycle expectations between shore-based and marine-use machines running in continuous service.

This PRI 214 suits vessels and offshore facilities that handle a steady flow of flatwork but do not justify the footprint or load of a larger-diameter ironer. Where the laundry is mainly personal clothing with little sheet or table linen, a rotary ironer of this width will be the wrong choice and space may be better spent on extra washer-extractor or dryer capacity.
