On performance, a standard cotton cycle with cold water connection uses 49 l and 0.98 kW in 59 minutes; with a hot water feed that drops to 46 l, 0.44 kW and 49 minutes. Specific consumption is given as 7 l/kg and 0.14 kWh/kg on cold, 6.6 l/kg and 0.06 kWh/kg on hot. Those deltas are significant in a vessel that makes its own water and where generator fuel is costed against every kWh. Heat dissipation into the room is quoted at 1 MJ/h, which sits in the HVAC calculation rather than the equipment list when assessing a small, enclosed laundry.

Construction and controls are aligned with marine duty. The PWM 507 is a front loader from the Little Giants series in the Performance range, with a Lotus white front and stainless steel control panel, door hinged to the right and opening to 167° through a 300 mm aperture. The control system is M Select, programmable, with remaining cycle time display and a display language that can be switched at any time, which matters for mixed-nationality crews. The stainless steel honeycomb drum with perforated rear panel is central to Miele’s fabric-handling claim, and the machine is specified and approved for shipboard use with Lloyd's Register approval and specified for offshore installations.

Virucidal and hygiene performance are explicitly documented: independently tested virucidal efficacy, verified hygiene performance and a thermal disinfection rinse programme are part of the feature set. Residual moisture with cold rinse is 48 %, with hot rinse 45 %, which ties into infection-control regimes where linen has to dry fully and predictably. Tested operating hours are quoted at 30000, which frames lifecycle expectations for an operator planning refits.

This unit is the right choice where there is a need for a 7 kg class marine washer with high spin performance, dual hot and cold feeds and documented hygiene on a 3~ 480V 50/60HZ supply. It is the wrong choice for laundries that routinely process much larger batch sizes, where a Benchmark-series machine with a bigger drum volume would fit the duty better.
