Eighty-seven kilograms per hour at 25% residual moisture and 51 kg/h at 50% residual moisture position the PRI 318 as a high-throughput rotary ironer for shipboard laundries. Those figures have to be matched to the available space, power and HVAC capacity on board. The PRI 318’s performance window is defined by the 300 mm roller, 1,750 mm working width and controllable ironing speed between 1.2 and 4.6 m/min. At lower residual moisture the machine can be planned around the 87 kg/h figure; at higher residual moisture it should be sized against the 51 kg/h output. Leaf-spring padding under an ARAMID needle-felt cloth ironer cover gives a defined contact surface on the roller, which is central to consistent finishing across the full 1,750 mm width. Tested operating hours are quoted at 20,000, which is a planning horizon for maintenance and replacement cycles rather than a hard limit.

Electrically, the machine uses an electric heating system with a 17 kW heater rating and a 35 A fuse rating. The net weight of 415 kg and gross weight of 492 kg define handling and lifting requirements during installation. Emission sound pressure level is 56 dB(A) re 20 µPa, which matters where the ironer shares a space with high-spin washer-extractors and dryers in continuous operation. A recycling rate of 98% is given for end-of-life planning. This unit is a good fit where flatwork volumes justify a 1,750 mm working width and a two-aisle laundry layout, and where an electric 18.3 kW connection is available. It is the wrong choice for smaller laundries that cannot spare the depth for back-of-machine access, or where the electrical infrastructure cannot support a 3 AC 400 V 50–60 Hz, 35 A connection and associated 10.8 MJ/h heat load.
