Nine kilograms washing and nine kilograms drying in one front-loading stack define the PDW 909’s role on board. With external dimensions of 692 x 761 mm and a height of 1940 mm, and a maximum floor load of 3235 N, the unit gives the yard fixed numbers for structural calculation and layout.

The stack sits in the Benchmark Performance Plus range and is specified and approved for shipboard use as well as offshore installations. Both machines are electrically heated, so connection is into the ship’s electrical distribution rather than a steam ring. The washer-extractor is rated 3 AC 230 V 60 Hz with a 7.95 kW heater and 8.2 kW total connected load on a 20 A fuse. The tumble dryer is supplied at 3 AC 230 V 50/60 Hz with a 7.94 kW heater, the same 8.2 kW connected load and a 25 A fuse. Those figures are the starting point for any laundry tied into a services board with a limited spare capacity margin.

On the washing side, the drum volume is 80 l with a 1:9 fill ratio for the 9 kg load. A spin speed of 1300 rpm and a g‑factor of 518 deliver 47% residual moisture on a cold rinse and 44% on a hot rinse, so the dryer does not spend energy evaporating water that could have been removed mechanically. The quoted programme duration of 45 min, a specific water consumption of 6.6 l/kg and specific energy consumption of 0.03 kW per kilogram let the superintendent turn load planning directly into freshwater and energy draw figures. The 370 mm door opening with a 180° door opening angle, and the washer hinged on the right, keep loading workable in narrow technical spaces.

The tumble dryer mirrors the capacity with a 9 kg rating, a 1:20 fill ratio and a drum volume of 180 l on an exhaust-air drying system. Maximum evaporation capacity is 7.4 l/hour, with a programme duration of 36 min and a specific tumble-dryer energy consumption of 0.51 kWh/kg on residual‑moisture‑controlled programmes. The 440 mm door opening and 180° opening angle, with the dryer hinged left, allow the operator to stand central in front of the stack and work both machines without the doors interfering.

Heat dissipation figures are 3 MJ/h from the washing machine and 1.62 MJ/h from the dryer, and the emission sound pressure level is stated as 63 dB(A) re 20 µPa. In a small laundry space close to accommodation, those numbers are relevant for both HVAC design and acoustic separation. Net weight is 208 kg with a gross weight of 232 kg, which feeds directly into lifting and installation planning.

The washer control is M Touch Pro Plus, freely programmable, and the dryer uses M Touch Pro with residual moisture control. Delay start on the washing machine is freely selectable, and up to 24 h on the tumble dryer, so cycles can be moved away from known peak-load periods. A 3‑compartment detergent drawer sits alongside up to 6 liquid dispenser connections for dosing systems, with cold and hot water each via 1x 1/2" hose with 3/4" threaded union and a DN 22 drain pump connection.

This stack suits vessels that need defined 9 kg batches with 45 min washing and 36 min drying and where a compact stacked footprint for a full 9+9 kg station is a priority. It is the wrong choice where routine single-batch volume is significantly above 9 kg, as repeated cycles instead of fewer larger loads will tie up staff time and machine hours.
