Nine kilograms of washing and nine kilograms of drying per cycle, in an 80 litre washer drum and a 180 litre dryer drum, is the basis of the PDW 909 stack. Both sides of the column are rated for the same 9 kg load, matched to a 1:9 fill ratio on the washer-extractor and 1:20 on the tumble dryer.

On board, the appeal is the capacity delivered in a small, defined footprint. External dimensions of 692 mm width, 761 mm depth and 1,940 mm height mean the stack occupies one position on the plan instead of two separate machines. A net weight of 208 kg and a maximum floor load of 3,235 N give the naval architect hard data for deck loading, while an emission sound pressure level of 63 dB(A) at the workplace matters when the laundry space sits close to accommodation.

Water, energy and moisture figures show how the unit behaves in continuous service. Specific water consumption is 6.6 litres per kilogram on the washer-extractor, with specific washer energy consumption of 0.03 kW per kilogram. The washer programme duration is 45 minutes, spinning at 1,300 rpm to a g-factor of 518 and leaving residual moisture at 47 % with cold rinse or 44 % with hot rinse. The exhaust-air tumble dryer runs a 36 minute programme with a maximum evaporation capacity of 7.4 litres per hour and a specific energy consumption of 0.51 kWh per kilogram, so spin performance and dryer duty are aligned.

Electrical data is split clearly between the two halves. The washer-extractor has electric heating and can be connected at 3 AC 480 V 60 Hz or 3 AC 400 V 60 Hz, with heater ratings of 5 and 7.2 kW and total connected loads of 7.45 and 5.25 kW on a 10 A fuse. The tumble dryer is also electrically heated, specified for 3 AC 480 V 50/60 Hz or 3 AC 400 V 50/60 Hz, with heater ratings of 4.26 and 6.14 kW, total connected loads of 4.6 and 6.4 kW and the same 10 A fuse rating. Heat dissipation into the room is quoted as 3 MJ/h from the washer-extractor and 1.62 MJ/h from the dryer, which feeds directly into HVAC and make-up air sizing in a closed laundry.

Operation and programming reflect the Benchmark Performance Plus tier. The washing machine side uses M Touch Pro Plus with freely programmable controls and a freely selectable delay start, so cycles can be defined to match the textile mix and timing of the watch. The tumble dryer runs on M Touch Pro with residual-moisture-controlled programmes and a delay start of up to 24 hours, stopping automatically at the defined dryness level instead of a fixed time. Door openings of 370 mm on the washer and 440 mm on the dryer, with a 180 degree door opening angle and washing right / drying left hinges, keep loading practical in a narrow room.

This unit is a strong fit where a professional 9 kg washer and 9 kg dryer are needed in a single, documented stack with exhaust-air drying and published floor load and heat output. It is the wrong choice where the ventilation concept cannot accommodate an exhaust-air dryer, or where the laundry is dimensioned around per-cycle loads significantly above 9 kg on each side of the stack.
