Offshore Washing Machines

Washing Machines on Offshore units

Accommodation on a platform or support vessel turns bedding and workwear over continuously, around the clock. Marine washer-extractors are ordered in the vessel's supply voltage and frequency, which Miele publishes in the model code, and are listed as Lloyd's Register approved per model and variant.

What this selection includes

This page lists 43 products from Miele (43). By series: Benchmark (27) and Little Giants (16). Across the list you will find rated power from 2.9 kW to 34.1 kW on the 41 models that publish it and load sizes up to 8 kg, 9 to 12 kg, 13 to 20 kg, 21 to 30 kg and over 30 kg.

By load size, up to 8 kg (16), 9 to 12 kg (9), 13 to 20 kg (8) and 21 to 30 kg (5). Connected load splits into up to 5 kw (16), 5 to 10 kw (11), 10 to 20 kw (8) and 20 to 40 kw (8).

A few of the models listed here: Miele Washing Machine PWM 507 (7 kg, 2.85 kW), Miele Washing Machine PWM 511 (11 kg, 6.3 kW), Miele Washing Machine PWM 906 (6 kg, 4 - 5.2 kW) and Miele Washing Machine PWM 908 (8 kg, 4 - 5.2 kW).

Specifying washing machines for offshore units

• Supply: builds are listed at 230 V, 240 V, 400 V, 440 V or 480 V, 41 of them with 60 Hz operation, and the order follows the vessel's own supply rather than the catalogue default.
• Power: 2.9 kW at the low end, 34.1 kW at the high end where published; the total laundry load is what the switchboard sees.
• Load size: the last two digits of a Miele PWM model give its load in kilograms, so the machine can be matched to the linen washed per day.
• Dryer exhaust routes through fire zones, and disinfection programmes for shared accommodation.
