With a single net weight of 385 kg to account for, the naval architect can plan deck loading, stiffening and any required coamings in one drawing rather than distributing a series of smaller frames across the galley.

The working surface of 1023 x 543 x 225 mm sits inside a fully welded body, with all wetted parts in stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L). That material choice, combined with welded seams, is there to keep the pan interior stable under repeated heating and cooling cycles and the constant contact with process water, food and cleaning chemicals. A 100-litre volume in this footprint gives enough depth for bulk cooking, shallow frying or deep-frying runs while still leaving deck area for passageways, refrigeration and preparation benches.

Electrically, the appliance is specified at 34 kW on 400 V. Concentrating this load into one frame can simplify cable routing, breaker allocation and isolation points in a switchboard that already feeds combi ovens, dishwashers and ventilation. It also makes it straightforward to check whether the galley distribution panel has the spare capacity: there is a single 34 kW line item to allow for in the balance of the cooking zone, rather than a group of smaller consumers whose sum can be overlooked.

It is not the right choice where the cooking load is light and intermittent, where the menu does not justify a 100-litre batch size, or where the electrical infrastructure cannot comfortably supply a 34 kW appliance without costly switchboard upgrades. In those cases, a smaller FlexiChef body or a set of lower-power appliances that spread the duty may be the more appropriate route.
