With a hot-water feed those figures fall to 6 l/kg and 48 l, at 0.06 kWh/kg and 0.5 kW, with programme time dropping to 49 minutes. That gives the chief engineer a clear choice between electrical and thermal loading depending on how the ship’s plant is arranged.

The machine sits in Miele’s Little Giants series and the Performance Plus range, and is specified and approved for shipboard use with Lloyd's Register on the approval line. Construction is front loader with a stainless steel front and stainless steel control panel, and the stainless steel honeycomb drum with perforated rear panel is designed to protect fibres while still giving thorough wetting. Net weight is 104 kg with a maximum floor load of 2,820 N, so the footprint and point loading can be checked early against the deck structure.

This is the right washer where 8 kg batches, fast turnaround and documented hygiene are the priority, such as crew laundries and small on-board linen rooms.
