Coldline Refrigerator Master 700 XL AS70/1MV – 1 glass door, -2/+8 °C, Plug-in, 601 l

The Coldline AS70/1MV is a single glass-door refrigerator from the Master 700 XL range, holding -2/+8 °C in a cabinet of 601 litres gross and 499 litres net. In the code AS70/1MV, AS70 is the 700 XL body, /1 the number of doors, M the -2/+8 °C range and V the glass door. The plug-in AS70/1MV carries its own condensing unit, charged with 105 g of R290, GWP 3. The AS70/1MV is one of the Master codes for which Coldline lists a Master Marine solutions variant.

Build and fittings

Standard equipment for the AS70/1MV: 3 slides for 650x588 mm shelves, 3 plastic coated 650x588 mm shelves, lock with key. The AS70/1MV has a self-closing aluminium door with a 105° latch and right-hand hinges, glazed, as the V in the code shows. Inside and out the AS70/1MV is AISI 304 stainless steel, apart from a galvanized/colaminated back, base and technical compartment, with 75 mm of CFC/HCFC-free insulation around 499 litres of storage whose corners are rounded for cleaning. Racks, slides, the 2 mm handle and the feet (adjustable from 100 to 150 mm) are AISI 304, and the triple-chamber magnetic gasket on the AS70/1MV can be replaced. An electronic controller with a flush display sets the -2/+8 °C range. Master 700 XL cabinets have moulded rails on the chamber sides so the XL grids can be moved between 7 levels; here that gives 499 litres net against 450 litres in the standard A70/1MV.

Cooling and energy

The AS70/1MV has a rated cooling capacity of 533 W (evaporating at -10 °C, condensing at +55 °C). On 220-240 V 50 Hz it draws 260 W at 1.2 A, with hot gas defrost. Its energy label is class B, with an energy efficiency index of 34.2, 489 kWh a year and 1.34 kWh in 24 hours at climate class 4.

Its remote counterpart, the AS70/1MRV, moves the condensing unit out of the galley and its heat with it; it runs on R452a, is listed at 220-240 V 50-60 Hz and weighs 130 kg net against 145 kg. With a solid door, as the AS70/1M, published consumption falls from 489 to 354 kWh a year.

Marine version

Coldline describes its Master Marine section as made for installation on ships and on oil and floating platforms, combining Master refrigeration with the safety specifications of the marine industry. What is published is the data for the standard AS70/1MV. The marine build has no data sheet of its own, and we confirm its details with Coldline before an order. Coldline publishes the AS70/1MV at 220-240 V 50 Hz and lists a 60 Hz supply and other special voltages among its variants. Accessories for the AS70/1MV include castors, an RS485 serial interface and Cosmo cable or Wi-Fi kits.

Size and handling

The AS70/1MV measures 740 mm wide, 815 mm deep and 2,085 mm high and weighs 145 kg net. Packed it is 835 × 930 × 2,138 mm and 165 kg, the size to check against doors, hatches and passageways on the way to the galley or provision store.
