A 470 liter gross capacity in a 600 × 700 mm footprint is the defining feature of the Prostore 500 freezer 691389. Inside that shell, 317 lt of net volume is organised on 44 shelf positions at a 22 mm pitch, so the store can be loaded tightly without blocking air flow.

On board this matters because provision stores are usually squeezed into leftover volume, not drawn on a blank sheet. External dimensions of 600 mm width and 700 mm depth make this a narrow cabinet that can pass through standard doors and service corridors, while the 2040 mm height has to be checked against deckhead, sprinklers and ductwork. With the door open the depth extends to 1226 mm, so the clearance in front of the unit needs to be planned for trolley traffic and escape routes.

The operating temperature band is −22 to −15 °C, served by a ventilated built-in cooling unit on R290 refrigerant. R290 here runs at a refrigeration power of 635 W with a refrigerant charge of 135 g, and the data plate gives the refrigeration power at an evaporation temperature of −30 °C. A 3/4 hp compressor on a 220–230 V/1 ph/60 Hz supply aligns with typical marine hotel services where small single-phase loads are preferred in provision areas away from the main galley busbars.

Internally the cabinet measures 472 mm in width, 582 mm in depth and 1474 mm in height. Four 520 × 442 grids are included as standard, and the 44 available positions at 22 mm step allow those grids to be repositioned to match the vessel’s own crate sizes and stock pattern. The operating mode is ventilated rather than static, which helps stabilise temperature recovery after door openings in a high-ambient store. Height adjustment is quoted at 15/40 mm, giving some margin to level the cabinet on sloping or cambered decks.

The cabinet is tropicalised for high ambient temperatures, which is directly relevant on ships where provision stores and small pantries often run warm due to equipment loads and restricted ventilation. Defrost type is electric with hot-gas defrost water evaporation, so there is no need to route and maintain a separate drain line from the cabinet in a crowded technical shaft.

This unit fits a vessel that needs a full-height, narrow-footprint freezer for distributed storage close to consumption points, as well as main provision rooms that cannot spare deck area for wider cabinets. It is not the best choice where only chilled storage is required, or where the store height cannot accommodate a 2040 mm cabinet plus the required deckhead clearance; in those cases a refrigerator variant or a lower body solution should be considered.
