Foster Cabinet Refrigerator EP700H – Marine, 600 Litre, +1/+4 °C, 304 Stainless Steel

The Foster EP700H, product code 41-373, is the single-door marine refrigerator in Foster's EcoPro G3 cabinet range. Foster lists its cabinet type as Marine and describes it as suitable for marine and offshore applications. It holds +1 to +4 °C in a cabinet of 600 litres gross and 479.9 litres net, takes GN 2/1 and is supplied with four shelves.

What makes it a marine cabinet

On this model Foster fits marine legs, bulkhead brackets, a positive latch handle, marine shelves and a marine unit cover. The brackets let the cabinet be tied back to the bulkhead, and the positive latch keeps the door shut when the vessel rolls. Doors and unit covers are 304 stainless steel, as is the interior.

Refrigeration and energy

The EP700H is an integral cabinet on R290 with an 80 g charge, a refrigerant with a global warming potential of 3 that is classified A3, higher flammability. It runs on 220-240 V single phase at 50 or 60 Hz, drawing 0.6 A and 140 W, and rejects 140 W of heat into the space. Foster rates it for climate class 5 and ambient temperatures up to 43 °C. The energy grade is A, with an EEI of 22.2, 310 kWh a year or 0.85 kWh in 24 hours. The +stayclear condenser is designed to hold that consumption over the life of the cabinet, Foster Shield distributes the air with a CFD-designed layout, and the PureControl LED controller can be connected through a gateway.

Space on board

The cabinet is 700 mm wide, 895 mm deep and 2,150 mm high, and 1,500 mm deep with the door open. Foster asks for 100 mm of clearance above it for airflow and service access. Net weight is 99.5 kg, 109.5 kg packed. Foster notes that castors are not available when the product is supplied without a condensing unit.

The freezer companion

The EP700L (41-723) is the matching marine freezer on the same 700 × 895 × 2,150 mm footprint, holding -18 to -21 °C. It draws 270 W against 140 W for the EP700H, carries energy grade B instead of A and comes with eight shelves instead of four; its marine kit has the legs, brackets, latch and shelves, without the marine unit cover.
