Hoshizaki Ball Ice Maker IM-65PE-F-Q – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 33 kg/24h

Up to 33 kg of ball ice every 24 hours, with a 17 kg bin built into the cabinet: that is the short version of the Hoshizaki IM-65PE-F-Q. Spread over a day, it is about 1.4 kg per hour. From empty, its 17 kg bin takes about 12 hours to fill.

In the IM CUBE family the IM-65PE-F-Q is the FlexiCUBE, which means a built-in drain pump. The pump in the IM-65PE-F-Q pushes waste water up to 10 m sideways and 1.5 m up, which helps on a ship where the deck drain is rarely next to the bar. The cabinet is 633 mm wide, 509 mm deep and 860 mm tall before legs (add 90-125 mm), and weighs 53 kg. Power draw is 0.31 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.83 kW of heat. Water consumption comes to 370 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 11.2 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-65PE-F-Q runs on 110 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. On the control side the IM-65PE-F-Q gives you automated cleaning and internal drain pump.

Installation notes

The IM-65PE-F-Q is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Expect roughly 0.83 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit. Pair it with a 4HC-H single filter; at 33 kg a day that is the size Hoshizaki specifies. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-65PE-F-Q.
