Hoshizaki Big Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE-E-LM – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 45 kg/24h

With 45 kg of big cubes a day and a 26 kg storage bin, the IM-65PE-E-LM is a self-contained air-cooled big cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 1.9 kg an hour. An empty 26 kg bin fills in roughly 14 hours at that rate.

Versions and cube size

This 45 kg/day machine is the EliteCUBE build, so it has both the drain pump and UV-C sanitization. With the pump, the drain for the IM-65PE-E-LM can be 10 m away and 1.5 m higher, so you place the machine where the 633 mm cabinet fits best. UV-C flashes treat the IM-65PE-E-LM's water tank between cleanings. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-65PE-LM (Basic Cube), IM-65PE-U-LM (UltraCUBE) and IM-65PE-F-LM (FlexiCUBE).

Specs worth checking

Footprint is 633 x 509 mm with a height of 860 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 49 kg. It draws 0.29 kW from a single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz supply, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.83 kW of heat. Daily water use is 300 liters, or roughly 6.7 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-65PE-E-LM runs on 110 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. On the control side the IM-65PE-E-LM gives you automated cleaning, UV-C sanitization and internal drain pump.

Where the IM-65PE-E-LM fits

Check two things on board before the IM-65PE-E-LM goes in: room temperature (1 to 40 °C allowed) and water pressure (0.7 to 8 bar, water 5 to 35 °C). Being air-cooled, the IM-65PE-E-LM warms the space it stands in by about 0.83 kW; in a small pantry that is worth planning for. Pair it with a 4HC-H single filter; at 45 kg a day that is the size Hoshizaki specifies.
