Hoshizaki Big Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE-F-LM – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 45 kg/24h

The IM-65PE-F-LM makes up to 45 kg of big cubes a day and keeps 26 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. That works out to roughly 1.9 kg an hour. At that rate the 26 kg bin takes around 14 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

In the IM CUBE family the IM-65PE-F-LM is the FlexiCUBE, which means a built-in drain pump. With the pump, the drain for the IM-65PE-F-LM can be 10 m away and 1.5 m higher, so you place the machine where the 633 mm cabinet fits best. Footprint is 633 x 509 mm with a height of 860 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 49 kg. Power draw is 0.29 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.83 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. It uses about 300 liters of water a day, or roughly 6.7 liters for every kilo of ice. Refrigerant is 110 g of flammable R290 (A3), a figure the yard or class surveyor will ask for. Functions on the IM-65PE-F-LM include automated cleaning and internal drain pump.

Fitting it on a vessel

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-65PE-F-LM, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. Air-cooled, it puts its 0.83 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. Pair it with a 4HC-H single filter; at 45 kg a day that is the size Hoshizaki specifies.
