Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130APE-23 – Modular, Air-cooled, 100 kg/24h, M Cube

Hoshizaki rates the modular IM-130APE-23 at 100 kg of cubes per 24 hours, and you pair it with a storage bin sized to the ice needed at the start of service (Hoshizaki lists the B-140SB, B-210SB, B-340SB). That works out to roughly 4.2 kg an hour.

Versions and cube size

The version suffix tells you what is inside: the IM-130APE-23 is the Basic Cube and comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. You get M cubes, 28 x 28 x 23 mm, at 100 kg a day, marked by the -23 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-130APE-U-23 (UltraCUBE). Need a different cube? Technical details

The cabinet is 560 mm wide, 700 mm deep and 880 mm tall, and weighs 62 kg. Power draw is 0.585 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 1.38 kW at 32 °C ambient. Daily water use is 660 liters, or roughly 6.6 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 130 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-130APE-23 goes. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-130APE-23.

On board

Check two things on board before the IM-130APE-23 goes in: room temperature (1 to 40 °C allowed) and water pressure (0.7 to 8 bar, water 5 to 35 °C). Being air-cooled, the IM-130APE-23 warms the space it stands in by about 1.38 kW; in a small pantry that is worth planning for. The matching water filter for 100 kg a day is the 4HC-H twin system.
