Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130CPE-32 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 116 kg/24h, XL Cube

Up to 116 kg of cubes every 24 hours, with a 38 kg bin built into the cabinet: that is the short version of the Hoshizaki IM-130CPE-32. Spread over a day, it is about 4.8 kg per hour. An empty 38 kg bin fills in roughly 7.9 hours at that rate.

Versions and cube size

In the IM CUBE family the IM-130CPE-32 is the Basic Cube, which means no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cubes from the IM-130CPE-32 come out 32 x 32 x 32 mm, which Hoshizaki calls size XL, marked by the -32 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-130CPE-U-32 (UltraCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-130CPE-23 (M cube, 103 kg a day) and IM-130CPE (L cube, 108 kg a day).

Technical details

Footprint is 1,004 x 600 mm with a height of 700 mm before legs (add 100mm); net weight is 80 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.585 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 1.45 kW of heat. Water consumption comes to 430 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 3.7 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-130CPE-32 runs on 125 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-130CPE-32.

Where the IM-130CPE-32 fits

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-130CPE-32, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. Air-cooled, it puts its 1.45 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. The matching water filter for 116 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
