Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130PE-23 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 110 kg/24h, M Cube

The IM-130PE-23 makes up to 110 kg of cubes a day and keeps 50 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. That works out to roughly 4.6 kg an hour. An empty 50 kg bin fills in roughly 11 hours at that rate.

Choosing the version

This 110 kg/day machine is the Basic Cube build, so it has no drain pump and no UV-C unit. The IM-130PE-23 makes the M cube, 28 x 28 x 23 mm, marked by the -23 in the code. Other versions of this model: IM-130PE-U-23 (UltraCUBE), IM-130PE-F-23 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-130PE-E-23 (EliteCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-130PE-32 (XL cube, 108 kg a day) and IM-130PE (L cube, 116 kg a day). There is also a water-cooled version, the IM-130WPE-23, rated at 99 kg a day, using 600 liters of water a day against 570 liters here and putting 1.02 kW of heat into the room instead of 1.45 kW.

Technical details

It measures 704 x 506 x 1,210 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 70-110mm) and weighs 71 kg empty. Power draw is 0.595 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 1.45 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. Water consumption comes to 570 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 5.2 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-130PE-23 is a 140 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. On the control side the IM-130PE-23 gives you automated cleaning.

On board

Operating limits for the IM-130PE-23 are 1 to 40 °C ambient, 5 to 35 °C water and 0.7 to 8 bar, so check the space and the fresh water line against those. The condenser blows about 1.45 kW of warm air into the room, which a bar with poor ventilation will notice. The matching water filter for 110 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
