Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130PE-32 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 108 kg/24h, XL Cube

Up to 108 kg of cubes every 24 hours, with a 50 kg bin built into the cabinet: that is the short version of the Hoshizaki IM-130PE-32. Spread over a day, it is about 4.5 kg per hour. An empty 50 kg bin fills in roughly 11 hours at that rate.

Which IM-130PE to pick

Hoshizaki sells the IM-130PE in four versions, and this one, the Basic Cube, has no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Each cube from the IM-130PE-32 is 32 x 32 x 32 mm (size XL), marked by the -32 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-130PE-U-32 (UltraCUBE), IM-130PE-F-32 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-130PE-E-32 (EliteCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-130PE-23 (M cube, 110 kg a day) and IM-130PE (L cube, 116 kg a day).

Specs worth checking

The cabinet is 704 mm wide, 506 mm deep and 1,210 mm tall before legs (add 70-110mm), and weighs 72 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.615 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 1.45 kW of heat. Daily water use is 400 liters, or roughly 3.7 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 140 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-130PE-32 goes. Functions on the IM-130PE-32 include automated cleaning.

Installation notes

Check two things on board before the IM-130PE-32 goes in: room temperature (1 to 40 °C allowed) and water pressure (0.7 to 8 bar, water 5 to 35 °C). Expect roughly 1.45 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-130PE-32. Supply, water and fixing for the IM-130PE-32 are confirmed per vessel when we quote, since the figures above describe Hoshizaki's standard build.
