Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130PE-E-32 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 108 kg/24h, XL Cube

With 108 kg of cubes a day and a 50 kg storage bin, the IM-130PE-E-32 is a self-contained air-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. That works out to roughly 4.5 kg an hour. At that rate the 50 kg bin takes around 11 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

This 108 kg/day machine is the EliteCUBE build, so it has both the drain pump and UV-C sanitization. Drain position stops being a problem: the IM-130PE-E-32 pumps its waste water up to 1.5 m high and 10 m away. UV-C flashes treat the IM-130PE-E-32's water tank between cleanings. Each cube from the IM-130PE-E-32 is 32 x 32 x 32 mm (size XL), marked by the -32 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-130PE-32 (Basic Cube), IM-130PE-U-32 (UltraCUBE) and IM-130PE-F-32 (FlexiCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-130PE-E-23 (M cube, 110 kg a day) and IM-130PE-E (L cube, 116 kg a day).

Power, water and size

Footprint is 704 x 506 mm with a height of 1,210 mm before legs (add 70-110mm); net weight is 73 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.615 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 1.45 kW at 32 °C ambient. Daily water use is 400 liters, or roughly 3.7 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 140 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-130PE-E-32 goes. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning, UV-C sanitization and internal drain pump for the IM-130PE-E-32.

Installation notes

The IM-130PE-E-32 is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Air-cooled, it puts its 1.45 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. The matching water filter for 108 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
