Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130WPE-23 – Self-Contained, Water-cooled, 99 kg/24h, M Cube

With 99 kg of cubes a day and a 50 kg storage bin, the IM-130WPE-23 is a self-contained water-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 4.1 kg an hour. An empty 50 kg bin fills in roughly 12 hours at that rate.

As the Basic Cube version of the IM-130WPE, this machine comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cube size on the IM-130WPE-23 is M (28 x 28 x 23 mm), marked by the -23 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-130WPE-U-23 (UltraCUBE), IM-130WPE-F-23 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-130WPE-E-23 (EliteCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-130WPE (L cube, 108 kg a day). The air-cooled twin is the IM-130PE-23: 110 kg a day, using 570 liters of water a day against 600 liters here and putting 1.45 kW of heat into the room instead of 1.02 kW.

Power, water and size

It measures 704 x 506 x 1,210 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 70-110mm) and weighs 71 kg empty. Power draw is 0.525 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 1.02 kW at 32 °C ambient. Water consumption comes to 600 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 6.1 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-130WPE-23 is a 147 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. On the control side the IM-130WPE-23 gives you automated cleaning.

Where the IM-130WPE-23 fits

The IM-130WPE-23 is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Water cooling keeps most of the heat out of the room, at the cost of about 600 liters a day from the tanks or watermaker. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-130WPE-23. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-130WPE-23.
