Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-130WPE-F Overview

Up to 108 kg of cubes every 24 hours, with a 50 kg bin built into the cabinet: that is the short version of the Hoshizaki IM-130WPE-F. That works out to roughly 4.5 kg an hour. At that rate the 50 kg bin takes around 11 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

This 108 kg/day machine is the FlexiCUBE build, so it has a built-in drain pump. Drain position stops being a problem: the IM-130WPE-F pumps its waste water up to 1.5 m high and 10 m away. Each cube from the IM-130WPE-F is 28 x 28 x 32 mm (size L), the standard size with no suffix. Other versions of this model: IM-130WPE (Basic Cube), IM-130WPE-U (UltraCUBE) and IM-130WPE-E (EliteCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-130WPE-F-23 (M cube, 99 kg a day). There is also a air-cooled version, the IM-130PE-F, rated at 116 kg a day, using 470 liters of water a day against 600 liters here and putting 1.45 kW of heat into the room instead of 1.02 kW.

Specs worth checking

Footprint is 704 x 506 mm with a height of 1,210 mm before legs (add 70-110mm); net weight is 72 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.53 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 1.02 kW of heat. Water consumption comes to 600 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 5.6 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 147 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-130WPE-F goes. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning and internal drain pump for the IM-130WPE-F.

Installation notes

The IM-130WPE-F is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. With water cooling, only 1.02 kW reaches the room; the price is roughly 600 liters of water per day. The matching water filter for 108 kg a day is the 4HC-H twin system. We quote the IM-130WPE-F against your vessel (supply voltage and frequency, water line, fixing), working from Hoshizaki's data for the standard model.
