Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240DPE Overview

The Hoshizaki IM-240DPE is a modular, stackable air-cooled cube ice maker producing up to 210 kg of cubes in 24 hours. In the IM CUBE range it is the Basic Cube and it makes the L cube (28 × 28 × 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix. As a modular head it has no bin of its own and sits on a separate storage bin: Hoshizaki pairs the IM-240DPE with the B-340SB; top kits: TK-48 for B-340SB (optional, not required), TK-IMD2 for B-340SB.

Versions and sizes

The same machine is listed as IM-240DPE-U (UltraCUBE). Other cube sizes of the IM-240DPE: IM-240DPE-23, M cube, 180 kg a day and IM-240DPE-32, XL cube, 190 kg a day. The water cooled version is the IM-240DWPE, at 209 kg a day and 0.99 m³ of water a day against 0.67 m³ for the IM-240DPE, rejecting 1.47 kW of heat against 2.25 kW.

Performance and connections

The IM-240DPE measures 1,084 × 700 × 500 mm (W × D × H) and weighs 82 kg net. Electrical consumption is 0.84 kW and heat rejection 2.25 kW at 32 °C ambient and 21 °C water, with 0.67 m³ of water used per 24 hours. The IM-240DPE runs on 147 g of R290, GWP 3. R290 is a natural refrigerant classified A3, higher flammability, so the charge belongs in the installation specification. Hoshizaki lists the IM-240DPE for single phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, with a voltage tolerance of ±6% and a 5 A circuit breaker. Functions listed by Hoshizaki: automated cleaning.

On board

Hoshizaki gives operating limits of ambient temperatures from 1 to 40 °C, water supply temperatures from 5 to 35 °C and water pressure from 0.7 to 8 bar, which is what the space and the vessel's fresh water system have to meet for the IM-240DPE. Being air-cooled, it rejects its heat into the space, so the ventilation of the galley or bar has to take it. For water treatment Hoshizaki pairs it with the 4HC-H twin water filter system and its 4HC replacement cartridges. Vista Marine supplies the IM-240DPE for galleys, bars and crew messes on ships, yachts and offshore units. The data on this page is what Hoshizaki publishes for the standard model; we check the supply voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing against the vessel before we quote.

Send us the vessel type, the supply voltage and frequency and where the IM-240DPE will stand, and we will quote it with the matching water filter and storage bin.
