Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240DPE – Modular & Stackable, Air-cooled, 210 kg/24h, L Cube

Which IM-240DPE to pick

As the Basic Cube version of the IM-240DPE, this machine comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cube size on the IM-240DPE is L (28 x 28 x 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix. The same machine also comes as IM-240DPE-U (UltraCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-240DPE-23 (M cube, 180 kg a day) and IM-240DPE-32 (XL cube, 190 kg a day). The water-cooled twin is the IM-240DWPE: 209 kg a day, using 990 liters of water a day against 670 liters here and putting 1.47 kW of heat into the room instead of 2.25 kW.

Technical details

It measures 1,084 x 700 x 500 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 82 kg empty. It draws 0.845 kW from a single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz supply, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 2.25 kW at 32 °C ambient. It uses about 670 liters of water a day, or roughly 3.2 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-240DPE runs on 147 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-240DPE.

Fitting it on a vessel

Keep the room around the IM-240DPE between 1 and 40 °C and the incoming water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Expect roughly 2.25 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit.
