Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240PE Overview

The Hoshizaki IM-240PE is a self-contained air-cooled cube ice maker producing up to 210 kg of cubes in 24 hours, with an 110 kg built-in storage bin. In the IM CUBE range it is the Basic Cube and it makes the L cube (28 × 28 × 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix.

Choosing between versions

The same machine is listed as IM-240PE-U (UltraCUBE), IM-240PE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-240PE-E (EliteCUBE). Other cube sizes of the IM-240PE: IM-240PE-23, M cube, 180 kg a day. The water cooled version is the IM-240WPE, at 188 kg a day and 0.9 m³ of water a day against 0.67 m³ for the IM-240PE, rejecting 1.54 kW of heat against 2.58 kW.

Performance and connections

The IM-240PE measures 704 × 665 × 1,510 mm (W × D × H) without legs (for legs add 70-110mm) and weighs 108 kg net. Electrical consumption is 0.87 kW and heat rejection 2.58 kW at 32 °C ambient and 21 °C water, with 0.67 m³ of water used per 24 hours. The IM-240PE runs on 147 g of R290, GWP 3. R290 is a natural refrigerant classified A3, higher flammability, so the charge belongs in the installation specification. Hoshizaki lists the IM-240PE for single phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, with a voltage tolerance of ±6% and a 5 A circuit breaker. Functions listed by Hoshizaki: automated cleaning.

On board

Hoshizaki gives operating limits of ambient temperatures from 1 to 40 °C, water supply temperatures from 5 to 35 °C and water pressure from 0.7 to 8 bar, which is what the space and the vessel's fresh water system have to meet for the IM-240PE. Being air-cooled, it rejects its heat into the space, so the ventilation of the galley or bar has to take it. For water treatment Hoshizaki pairs it with the 4HC-H twin water filter system and its 4HC replacement cartridges. On a vessel the IM-240PE is specified like any galley appliance: supply voltage and frequency, water inlet and drain, ventilation and fixing. This page carries Hoshizaki's published data for the standard model, and we confirm the marine installation details with the quotation.

Send us the vessel type, the supply voltage and frequency and where the IM-240PE will stand, and we will quote it with the matching water filter.
