Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240WPE-F – Self-Contained, Water-cooled, 207 kg/24h, L Cube

With 207 kg of cubes a day and a 110 kg storage bin, the IM-240WPE-F is a self-contained water-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 8.6 kg an hour. An empty 110 kg bin fills in roughly 13 hours at that rate.

Which IM-240WPE to pick

As the FlexiCUBE version of the IM-240WPE, this machine comes with a built-in drain pump. Drain position stops being a problem: the IM-240WPE-F pumps its waste water up to 1.5 m high and 10 m away. You get L cubes, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, at 207 kg a day, the standard size with no suffix. The same machine also comes as IM-240WPE (Basic Cube), IM-240WPE-U (UltraCUBE) and IM-240WPE-E (EliteCUBE). It measures 704 x 665 x 1,510 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 70-110mm) and weighs 109 kg empty. Power draw is 0.75 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 1.54 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. Daily water use is 900 liters, or roughly 4.3 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 147 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-240WPE-F goes. On the control side the IM-240WPE-F gives you automated cleaning and internal drain pump.

Where the IM-240WPE-F fits

Keep the room around the IM-240WPE-F between 1 and 40 °C and the incoming water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. The water-cooled condenser suits tight, badly ventilated spaces, but the IM-240WPE-F needs a steady supply of cooling water, around 900 liters a day in total. The matching water filter for 207 kg a day is the 4HC-H twin system.
