Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240WPE-U Overview
Hoshizaki rates the IM-240WPE-U at 207 kg of cubes per day. The ice drops into a 110 kg bin inside the same water-cooled cabinet. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 8.6 kg an hour. At that rate the 110 kg bin takes around 13 hours to rebuild after a busy service.
Versions and cube size
Hoshizaki sells the IM-240WPE in four versions, and this one, the UltraCUBE, has UV-C sanitization of the water tank. Between scheduled cleanings, UV-C light treats the tank water inside the IM-240WPE-U. Cube size on the IM-240WPE-U is L (28 x 28 x 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix. The same machine also comes as IM-240WPE (Basic Cube), IM-240WPE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-240WPE-E (EliteCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-240WPE-U-23 (M cube, 190 kg a day). The air-cooled twin is the IM-240PE-U: 210 kg a day, using 670 liters of water a day against 900 liters here and putting 2.58 kW of heat into the room instead of 1.54 kW.

The cabinet is 704 mm wide, 665 mm deep and 1,510 mm tall before legs (add 70-110mm), and weighs 108 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.75 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 1.54 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. Daily water use is 900 liters, or roughly 4.3 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 147 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-240WPE-U goes. Functions on the IM-240WPE-U include automated cleaning and UV-C sanitization.
