Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-240XPE Overview
Up to 210 kg of cubes a day from a air-cooled head that sits on a separate bin: the IM-240XPE is built for ice rooms and busy bars rather than a counter. Hoshizaki pairs the IM-240XPE with the B-340SB. As the extension unit, it goes on top of a matching base unit, so two heads fill a single bin. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 8.8 kg an hour.
Choosing the version
Hoshizaki sells the IM-240XPE in four versions, and this one, the Basic Cube, has no drain pump and no UV-C unit. The IM-240XPE makes the L cube, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, the standard size with no suffix. Other versions of this model: IM-240XPE-U (UltraCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-240XPE-23 (M cube, 180 kg a day) and IM-240XPE-32 (XL cube, 190 kg a day). The water-cooled twin is the IM-240XWPE: 209 kg a day, using 990 liters of water a day against 670 liters here and putting 1.47 kW of heat into the room instead of 2.25 kW.
