Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-30CPE-25 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 27 kg/24h, S Cube

Hoshizaki rates the IM-30CPE-25 at 27 kg of cubes per day. The ice drops into a 11.5 kg bin inside the same air-cooled cabinet. That works out to roughly 1.1 kg an hour. An empty 11.5 kg bin fills in roughly 10 hours at that rate.

Which IM-30CPE to pick

Hoshizaki sells the IM-30CPE in four versions, and this one, the Basic Cube, has no drain pump and no UV-C unit. You get S cubes, 25 x 25 x 23 mm, at 27 kg a day, marked by the -25 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-30CPE-U-25 (UltraCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-30CPE (L cube, 34 kg a day). The water-cooled twin is the IM-30CWPE-25: 30 kg a day, using 140 liters of water a day against 140 liters here and putting 0.31 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.57 kW.

In numbers

The cabinet is 398 mm wide, 461 mm deep and 695 mm tall before legs (add 92-127mm), and weighs 36 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.215 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.57 kW of heat. It uses about 140 liters of water a day, or roughly 5.2 liters for every kilo of ice. Refrigerant is 65 g of flammable R290 (A3), a figure the yard or class surveyor will ask for. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-30CPE-25.

Where the IM-30CPE-25 fits

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-30CPE-25, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. Expect roughly 0.57 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-30CPE-25.
