Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-30CPE-U – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 34 kg/24h, L Cube

With 34 kg of cubes a day and a 11.5 kg storage bin, the IM-30CPE-U is a self-contained air-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Spread over a day, it is about 1.4 kg per hour. From empty, its 11.5 kg bin takes about 8.1 hours to fill.

Choosing the version

The version suffix tells you what is inside: the IM-30CPE-U is the UltraCUBE and comes with UV-C sanitization of the water tank. Between scheduled cleanings, UV-C light treats the tank water inside the IM-30CPE-U. You get L cubes, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, at 34 kg a day, the standard size with no suffix. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-30CPE (Basic Cube). Other cube sizes: IM-30CPE-U-25 (S cube, 27 kg a day). Compare it with the water-cooled IM-30CWPE-U, which makes 32 kg a day, using 160 liters of water a day against 150 liters here and putting 0.31 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.57 kW.

In numbers

It measures 398 x 461 x 695 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 92-127mm) and weighs 36 kg empty. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.215 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.57 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. It uses about 150 liters of water a day, or roughly 4.4 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-30CPE-U runs on 65 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Functions on the IM-30CPE-U include automated cleaning and UV-C sanitization.

Installation notes

Check two things on board before the IM-30CPE-U goes in: room temperature (1 to 40 °C allowed) and water pressure (0.7 to 8 bar, water 5 to 35 °C). Expect roughly 0.57 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit. Hoshizaki matches the IM-30CPE-U with the 4HC-H single filter system. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-30CPE-U.
