Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-30CPE – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 34 kg/24h, L Cube

The IM-30CPE makes up to 34 kg of cubes a day and keeps 11.5 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 1.4 kg an hour. An empty 11.5 kg bin fills in roughly 8.1 hours at that rate.

Choosing the version

In the IM CUBE family the IM-30CPE is the Basic Cube, which means no drain pump and no UV-C unit. The IM-30CPE makes the L cube, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, the standard size with no suffix. Other versions of this model: IM-30CPE-U (UltraCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-30CPE-25 (S cube, 27 kg a day). There is also a water-cooled version, the IM-30CWPE, rated at 32 kg a day, using 160 liters of water a day against 150 liters here and putting 0.31 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.57 kW.

In numbers

The cabinet is 398 mm wide, 461 mm deep and 695 mm tall before legs (add 92-127mm), and weighs 36 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.215 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 0.57 kW at 32 °C ambient. Daily water use is 150 liters, or roughly 4.4 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-30CPE is a 65 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. On the control side the IM-30CPE gives you automated cleaning.

Installation notes

Operating limits for the IM-30CPE are 1 to 40 °C ambient, 5 to 35 °C water and 0.7 to 8 bar, so check the space and the fresh water line against those. Being air-cooled, the IM-30CPE warms the space it stands in by about 0.57 kW; in a small pantry that is worth planning for. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-30CPE.
