Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-30CWPE-25 – Self-Contained, Water-cooled, 30 kg/24h, S Cube

With 30 kg of cubes a day and a 11.5 kg storage bin, the IM-30CWPE-25 is a self-contained water-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. That works out to roughly 1.2 kg an hour. At that rate the 11.5 kg bin takes around 9.2 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

This 30 kg/day machine is the Basic Cube build, so it has no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cubes from the IM-30CWPE-25 come out 25 x 25 x 23 mm, which Hoshizaki calls size S, marked by the -25 in the code. The same machine also comes as IM-30CWPE-U-25 (UltraCUBE). Need a different cube? Compare it with the air-cooled IM-30CPE-25, which makes 27 kg a day, using 140 liters of water a day against 140 liters here and putting 0.57 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.31 kW.

Technical details

It measures 398 x 461 x 695 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 92-127mm) and weighs 37 kg empty. Power draw is 0.175 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 0.31 kW at 32 °C ambient. It uses about 140 liters of water a day, or roughly 4.7 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-30CWPE-25 runs on 70 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-30CWPE-25.

Installation notes

The IM-30CWPE-25 is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. With water cooling, only 0.31 kW reaches the room; the price is roughly 140 liters of water per day. The matching water filter for 30 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
