Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45CPE-E – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 47 kg/24h, L Cube

The IM-45CPE-E makes up to 47 kg of cubes a day and keeps 15 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. Spread over a day, it is about 2 kg per hour. At that rate the 15 kg bin takes around 7.7 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Choosing the version

In the IM CUBE family the IM-45CPE-E is the EliteCUBE, which means both the drain pump and UV-C sanitization. With the pump, the drain for the IM-45CPE-E can be 10 m away and 1.5 m higher, so you place the machine where the 633 mm cabinet fits best. UV-C flashes treat the IM-45CPE-E's water tank between cleanings. You get L cubes, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, at 47 kg a day, the standard size with no suffix. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-45CPE (Basic Cube), IM-45CPE-U (UltraCUBE) and IM-45CPE-F (FlexiCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-45CPE-E-25 (S cube, 42 kg a day).

Technical details

Footprint is 633 x 521 mm with a height of 690 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 44 kg. Power draw is 0.255 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.71 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. Daily water use is 110 liters, or roughly 2.3 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 70 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-45CPE-E goes. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning, UV-C sanitization and internal drain pump for the IM-45CPE-E.

Installation notes

The IM-45CPE-E is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Expect roughly 0.71 kW of extra heat in the room from this air-cooled unit. The matching water filter for 47 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-45CPE-E.
