Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45PE-25 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 43 kg/24h, S Cube

Hoshizaki rates the IM-45PE-25 at 43 kg of cubes per day. The ice drops into a 18 kg bin inside the same air-cooled cabinet. That works out to roughly 1.8 kg an hour. At that rate the 18 kg bin takes around 10 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Which IM-45PE to pick

The version suffix tells you what is inside: the IM-45PE-25 is the Basic Cube and comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. You get S cubes, 25 x 25 x 23 mm, at 43 kg a day, marked by the -25 in the code. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-45PE-U-25 (UltraCUBE), IM-45PE-F-25 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-45PE-E-25 (EliteCUBE). Need a different cube? Refrigerant is 70 g of flammable R290 (A3), a figure the yard or class surveyor will ask for. On the control side the IM-45PE-25 gives you automated cleaning.

Installation notes

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-45PE-25, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. The condenser blows about 0.71 kW of warm air into the room, which a bar with poor ventilation will notice. Hoshizaki matches the IM-45PE-25 with the 4HC-H single filter system. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-45PE-25.
