Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45PE-U-25 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 43 kg/24h, S Cube

The IM-45PE-U-25 makes up to 43 kg of cubes a day and keeps 18 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 1.8 kg an hour. From empty, its 18 kg bin takes about 10 hours to fill.

This 43 kg/day machine is the UltraCUBE build, so it has UV-C sanitization of the water tank. UV-C flashes treat the IM-45PE-U-25's water tank between cleanings. Cubes from the IM-45PE-U-25 come out 25 x 25 x 23 mm, which Hoshizaki calls size S, marked by the -25 in the code. Heat released into the room is 0.71 kW at 32 °C ambient. Daily water use is 220 liters, or roughly 5.1 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-45PE-U-25 is a 70 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning and UV-C sanitization for the IM-45PE-U-25.

Installation notes

Operating limits for the IM-45PE-U-25 are 1 to 40 °C ambient, 5 to 35 °C water and 0.7 to 8 bar, so check the space and the fresh water line against those. Being air-cooled, the IM-45PE-U-25 warms the space it stands in by about 0.71 kW; in a small pantry that is worth planning for. The matching water filter for 43 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
