Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45PE-U – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 47 kg/24h, L Cube

With 47 kg of cubes a day and a 18 kg storage bin, the IM-45PE-U is a self-contained air-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. That works out to roughly 2 kg an hour. An empty 18 kg bin fills in roughly 9.2 hours at that rate.

As the UltraCUBE version of the IM-45PE, this machine comes with UV-C sanitization of the water tank. The UV-C lamp keeps the standing water in the tank treated between cleanings of this 47 kg/day machine. You get L cubes, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, at 47 kg a day, the standard size with no suffix. The same machine also comes as IM-45PE (Basic Cube), IM-45PE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-45PE-E (EliteCUBE). Other cube sizes: IM-45PE-U-25 (S cube, 43 kg a day). Power, water and size

It measures 503 x 456 x 840 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 90-125 mm) and weighs 44 kg empty. Power draw is 0.255 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.71 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. Daily water use is 110 liters, or roughly 2.3 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-45PE-U runs on 70 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning and UV-C sanitization for the IM-45PE-U.

Fitting it on a vessel

Operating limits for the IM-45PE-U are 1 to 40 °C ambient, 5 to 35 °C water and 0.7 to 8 bar, so check the space and the fresh water line against those. Air-cooled, it puts its 0.71 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. The matching water filter for 47 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system.
