Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45PE – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 47 kg/24h, L Cube

The IM-45PE makes up to 47 kg of cubes a day and keeps 18 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. Spread over a day, it is about 2 kg per hour. At that rate the 18 kg bin takes around 9.2 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

In the IM CUBE family the IM-45PE is the Basic Cube, which means no drain pump and no UV-C unit. You get L cubes, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, at 47 kg a day, the standard size with no suffix. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-45PE-U (UltraCUBE), IM-45PE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-45PE-E (EliteCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-45PE-25 (S cube, 43 kg a day). There is also a water-cooled version, the IM-45WPE, rated at 50 kg a day, using 250 liters of water a day against 110 liters here and putting 0.44 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.71 kW.

Power, water and size

Footprint is 503 x 456 mm with a height of 840 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 44 kg. Power draw is 0.255 kW on single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 0.71 kW at 32 °C ambient. Water consumption comes to 110 liters per 24 hours, or roughly 2.3 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 70 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-45PE goes. Functions on the IM-45PE include automated cleaning.

Where the IM-45PE fits

The IM-45PE is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. The condenser blows about 0.71 kW of warm air into the room, which a bar with poor ventilation will notice. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-45PE.
