Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45WPE-25 – Self-Contained, Water-cooled, 47 kg/24h, S Cube

Hoshizaki rates the IM-45WPE-25 at 47 kg of cubes per day. The ice drops into a 18 kg bin inside the same water-cooled cabinet. That works out to roughly 2 kg an hour. An empty 18 kg bin fills in roughly 9.2 hours at that rate.

Choosing the version

As the Basic Cube version of the IM-45WPE, this machine comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. You get S cubes, 25 x 25 x 23 mm, at 47 kg a day, marked by the -25 in the code. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-45WPE-U-25 (UltraCUBE), IM-45WPE-F-25 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-45WPE-E-25 (EliteCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-45WPE (L cube, 50 kg a day). Compare it with the air-cooled IM-45PE-25, which makes 43 kg a day, using 220 liters of water a day against 260 liters here and putting 0.71 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.44 kW.

Specs worth checking

The cabinet is 503 mm wide, 456 mm deep and 840 mm tall before legs (add 90-125 mm), and weighs 45 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.22 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.44 kW of heat. It uses about 260 liters of water a day, or roughly 5.5 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-45WPE-25 runs on 90 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. On the control side the IM-45WPE-25 gives you automated cleaning.

Where the IM-45WPE-25 fits

Keep the room around the IM-45WPE-25 between 1 and 40 °C and the incoming water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. The water-cooled condenser suits tight, badly ventilated spaces, but the IM-45WPE-25 needs a steady supply of cooling water, around 260 liters a day in total. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-45WPE-25.
