Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45WPE-F Overview
With 50 kg of cubes a day and a 18 kg storage bin, the IM-45WPE-F is a self-contained water-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 2.1 kg an hour. At that rate the 18 kg bin takes around 8.6 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

This 50 kg/day machine is the FlexiCUBE build, so it has a built-in drain pump. With the pump, the drain for the IM-45WPE-F can be 10 m away and 1.5 m higher, so you place the machine where the 503 mm cabinet fits best. It measures 503 x 456 x 840 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 90-125 mm) and weighs 46 kg empty. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.225 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 0.44 kW at 32 °C ambient. It uses about 250 liters of water a day, or roughly 5 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-45WPE-F is a 90 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. Functions on the IM-45WPE-F include automated cleaning and internal drain pump.
Installation notes
Check two things on board before the IM-45WPE-F goes in: room temperature (1 to 40 °C allowed) and water pressure (0.7 to 8 bar, water 5 to 35 °C). Water cooling keeps most of the heat out of the room, at the cost of about 250 liters a day from the tanks or watermaker. Pair it with a 4HC-H single filter; at 50 kg a day that is the size Hoshizaki specifies.
