Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-45WPE – Self-Contained, Water-cooled, 50 kg/24h, L Cube

The IM-45WPE makes up to 50 kg of cubes a day and keeps 18 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. Averaged out, the machine turns out about 2.1 kg an hour. From empty, its 18 kg bin takes about 8.6 hours to fill.

Versions and cube size

The version suffix tells you what is inside: the IM-45WPE is the Basic Cube and comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cube size on the IM-45WPE is L (28 x 28 x 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix. Other versions of this model: IM-45WPE-U (UltraCUBE), IM-45WPE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-45WPE-E (EliteCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-45WPE-25 (S cube, 47 kg a day). There is also a air-cooled version, the IM-45PE, rated at 47 kg a day, using 110 liters of water a day against 250 liters here and putting 0.71 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.44 kW.

Technical details

Footprint is 503 x 456 mm with a height of 840 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 45 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.225 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.44 kW of heat. Daily water use is 250 liters, or roughly 5 liters for every kilo of ice. Inside the IM-45WPE is a 90 g R290 charge, and R290 is propane rated A3 for flammability. On the control side the IM-45WPE gives you automated cleaning.

On board

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-45WPE, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. Water cooling keeps most of the heat out of the room, at the cost of about 250 liters a day from the tanks or watermaker. The matching water filter for 50 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system. Before quoting we check the board voltage and frequency, the water connection and the fixing on board, since the figures above are for the standard IM-45WPE.
