Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE-25 – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 56 kg/24h, S Cube

Hoshizaki rates the IM-65PE-25 at 56 kg of cubes per day. The ice drops into a 26 kg bin inside the same air-cooled cabinet. That works out to roughly 2.3 kg an hour. From empty, its 26 kg bin takes about 11 hours to fill.

Choosing the version

As the Basic Cube version of the IM-65PE, this machine comes with no drain pump and no UV-C unit. Cube size on the IM-65PE-25 is S (25 x 25 x 23 mm), marked by the -25 in the code. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-65PE-U-25 (UltraCUBE), IM-65PE-F-25 (FlexiCUBE) and IM-65PE-E-25 (EliteCUBE). With a different cube it is the IM-65PE (L cube, 58 kg a day). There is also a water-cooled version, the IM-65WPE-25, rated at 54 kg a day, using 430 liters of water a day against 220 liters here and putting 0.43 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.83 kW.

Specs worth checking

It measures 633 x 509 x 840 mm (W x D x H) before legs (add 90-125 mm) and weighs 48 kg empty. It draws 0.305 kW from a single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz supply, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Heat released into the room is 0.83 kW at 32 °C ambient. Daily water use is 220 liters, or roughly 3.9 liters for every kilo of ice. The IM-65PE-25 runs on 110 g of R290, which is propane (safety class A3), so the charge belongs on the installation paperwork. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-65PE-25.

On board

The IM-65PE-25 is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Air-cooled, it puts its 0.83 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. The matching water filter for 56 kg a day is the 4HC-H single system. Supply, water and fixing for the IM-65PE-25 are confirmed per vessel when we quote, since the figures above describe Hoshizaki's standard build.
