Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE-E Overview
With 58 kg of cubes a day and a 26 kg storage bin, the IM-65PE-E is a self-contained air-cooled cube machine for bars, pantries and small galleys. Spread over a day, it is about 2.4 kg per hour. At that rate the 26 kg bin takes around 11 hours to rebuild after a busy service.
Versions and cube size
Hoshizaki sells the IM-65PE in four versions, and this one, the EliteCUBE, has both the drain pump and UV-C sanitization. Drain position stops being a problem: the IM-65PE-E pumps its waste water up to 1.5 m high and 10 m away. The UV-C lamp keeps the standing water in the tank treated between cleanings of this 58 kg/day machine. Cube size on the IM-65PE-E is L (28 x 28 x 32 mm), the standard size with no suffix. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-65PE (Basic Cube), IM-65PE-U (UltraCUBE) and IM-65PE-F (FlexiCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-65PE-E-25 (S cube, 56 kg a day). The water-cooled twin is the IM-65WPE-E: 62 kg a day, using 310 liters of water a day against 430 liters here and putting 0.43 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.83 kW.

At 32 °C room temperature it releases 0.83 kW of heat. It uses about 430 liters of water a day, or roughly 7.4 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 110 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-65PE-E goes. Installation notes
The IM-65PE-E is rated for rooms at 1 to 40 °C, with feed water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. The condenser blows about 0.83 kW of warm air into the room, which a bar with poor ventilation will notice. For water treatment, fit the 4HC-H single filter ahead of the IM-65PE-E.
