Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE-F – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 58 kg/24h, L Cube

Up to 58 kg of cubes every 24 hours, with a 26 kg bin built into the cabinet: that is the short version of the Hoshizaki IM-65PE-F. That works out to roughly 2.4 kg an hour. At that rate the 26 kg bin takes around 11 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Versions and cube size

This 58 kg/day machine is the FlexiCUBE build, so it has a built-in drain pump. Drain position stops being a problem: the IM-65PE-F pumps its waste water up to 1.5 m high and 10 m away. Cubes from the IM-65PE-F come out 28 x 28 x 32 mm, which Hoshizaki calls size L, the standard size with no suffix. The same machine also comes as IM-65PE (Basic Cube), IM-65PE-U (UltraCUBE) and IM-65PE-E (EliteCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-65PE-F-25 (S cube, 56 kg a day). Specs worth checking

Footprint is 633 x 509 mm with a height of 840 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 49 kg. It draws 0.29 kW from a single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz supply, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.83 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. It uses about 430 liters of water a day, or roughly 7.4 liters for every kilo of ice. Its refrigerant is R290 (propane, class A3), 110 g of it, which matters when you decide where the IM-65PE-F goes. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning and internal drain pump for the IM-65PE-F.

Fitting it on a vessel

Hoshizaki allows 1 to 40 °C in the room for the IM-65PE-F, water at 5 to 35 °C and a supply pressure of 0.7 to 8 bar. The condenser blows about 0.83 kW of warm air into the room, which a bar with poor ventilation will notice. Hoshizaki matches the IM-65PE-F with the 4HC-H single filter system.
