Hoshizaki Cube Ice Maker IM-65PE Overview

The IM-65PE makes up to 58 kg of cubes a day and keeps 26 kg of it in its own bin, so it only needs power, water and a drain to start working. That works out to roughly 2.4 kg an hour. At that rate the 26 kg bin takes around 11 hours to rebuild after a busy service.

Which IM-65PE to pick

In the IM CUBE family the IM-65PE is the Basic Cube, which means no drain pump and no UV-C unit. The IM-65PE makes the L cube, 28 x 28 x 32 mm, the standard size with no suffix. If the version does not suit, the same body is sold as IM-65PE-U (UltraCUBE), IM-65PE-F (FlexiCUBE) and IM-65PE-E (EliteCUBE). Need a different cube? Look at the IM-65PE-25 (S cube, 56 kg a day). Compare it with the water-cooled IM-65WPE, which makes 62 kg a day, using 310 liters of water a day against 430 liters here and putting 0.43 kW of heat into the room instead of 0.83 kW.

Power, water and size

Footprint is 633 x 506 mm with a height of 840 mm before legs (add 90-125 mm); net weight is 48 kg. Electrically it needs single-phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, drawing 0.29 kW, within ±6%, on a 5 A breaker. Plan for 0.83 kW of heat into the space at 32 °C. It uses about 430 liters of water a day, or roughly 7.4 liters for every kilo of ice. Refrigerant is 110 g of flammable R290 (A3), a figure the yard or class surveyor will ask for. Hoshizaki lists automated cleaning for the IM-65PE.

On board

Keep the room around the IM-65PE between 1 and 40 °C and the incoming water between 5 and 35 °C at 0.7 to 8 bar. Air-cooled, it puts its 0.83 kW of heat straight into the room, so a closed pantry needs some ventilation. Hoshizaki matches the IM-65PE with the 4HC-H single filter system. Supply, water and fixing for the IM-65PE are confirmed per vessel when we quote, since the figures above describe Hoshizaki's standard build.
