Hoshizaki Cubelet Ice Maker CM-50KE-HC – Self-Contained, Air-cooled, 55 kg/24h

The Hoshizaki CM-50KE-HC is a self-contained air-cooled cubelet ice maker producing up to 55 kg of cubelet ice in 24 hours, with an 18 kg built-in storage bin.

Performance and connections

The CM-50KE-HC measures 498 × 570 × 697 mm (W × D × H) and weighs 49 kg net. Electrical consumption is 0.27 kW and heat rejection 0.45 kW at 32 °C ambient and 21 °C water, with 0.055 m³ of water used per 24 hours. The CM-50KE-HC runs on 50 g of R290, GWP 3. R290 is a natural refrigerant classified A3, higher flammability, so the charge belongs in the installation specification. Electrically the CM-50KE-HC is rated for single phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, with a voltage tolerance of ±6% and a 6 A circuit breaker.

On board

Hoshizaki gives operating limits of ambient temperatures from 5 to 40 °C, water supply temperatures from 5 to 35 °C and water pressure from 0.5 to 8 bar, which is what the space and the vessel's fresh water system have to meet for the CM-50KE-HC. Being air-cooled, it rejects its heat into the space, so the ventilation of the galley or bar has to take it. For water treatment Hoshizaki pairs it with the 4HC-H single water filter system and its 4HC replacement cartridges.
