The Hoshizaki FM-120KE-HCN is a self-contained air-cooled nugget ice maker producing up to 110 kg of nugget ice in 24 hours, with a 32 kg built-in storage bin.

The FM-120KE-HCN measures 640 × 600 × 711 mm (W × D × H) without legs (legs add 87-122mm) and weighs 66 kg net. Electrical consumption is 0.35 kW and heat rejection 0.66 kW at 32 °C ambient and 21 °C water, with 0.11 m³ of water used per 24 hours. The FM-120KE-HCN runs on 100 g of R290, GWP 3. R290 is a natural refrigerant classified A3, higher flammability, so the charge belongs in the installation specification. Hoshizaki lists the FM-120KE-HCN for single phase 220-240 V 50 Hz, with a voltage tolerance of ±6% and a 6 A circuit breaker.

Hoshizaki gives operating limits of ambient temperatures from 5 to 40 °C, water supply temperatures from 5 to 35 °C and water pressure from 0.5 to 8 bar, which is what the space and the vessel's fresh water system have to meet for the FM-120KE-HCN. Being air-cooled, it rejects its heat into the space, so the ventilation of the galley or bar has to take it.
